'A symbol of reinvention': Michelin opens renovated new headquarters in France

A recently-inaugurated renovation project for Michelin’s corporate headquarters in Clermont-Ferrand, France, has given a new identity to the 130-year-old legacy brand that was “in need of a new setting to project into the future,” according to President Florent Menegaux. The project was completed last year as a collaboration between the French studios Encore Heureux Architectes, Construire, and Base.

Construction starts decline again in November, led by losses in commercial projects and manufacturing

The latest data from November’s Dodge Construction Network report has revealed an 18% decline in total construction starts nationwide to an adjusted annual rate of $926.3 billion. The dip follows an October rebound that ended two consecutive months of declining figures. Total year-to-date starts for the first 11 months of the year were 14% higher than in 2021.

November Architecture Billings Index shows demand for design services continues to slow

Billings for residential work remain strong but slower times ahead, suggests AIA Home Design Trends Survey

The American Institute of Architects has released their latest quarterly report into residential design. The AIA Home Design Trends Survey (Q4) revealed a contraction in the demand for residential design inquiries and design contracts, despite billings for residential projects continuing to increase. Stylistically, the survey found that ‘contemporary’ home styles continue to be the most popular among clients, with 52% of architects reporting client popularity in the style increasing.
