Des Moines Art Center, Mary Miss settle lawsuit over land art demolition

A settlement has been reached in a dispute over the removal of land artist Mary Miss ’ Greenwood Pond: Double Site at the Des Moines Art Center in Iowa. The Art Center will pay the artist $900,000 for a breach of contract in its plans for its planned demolition of the 29-year-old outdoor sculpture last spring despite a court injunction.
