For years I have done all my initial design efforts for individual clients in face to face, highly participatory meeting with the owners.

They don’t all have blogs like mine where you can get a pretty good feeling for who I am and how I work. What are the steps in the design process? If someone tells you that you get three schematic design meetings, and if any more are required, there would be additional design fees, I would start asking some other questions.

This last week I was in Chicago for the American Institute of Architects National Convention – I arrived around 1:00am Wednesday morning (my first seminar was 6 hours later) and I left Sunday at 9:00am to drive to northern Wisconsin to meet with some new clients.
