Mae Architects completes "21st-century almshouse" in Southwark

London studio Mae Architects has created Harriet Hardy House in Southwark, a block of 119 social homes complete with a community centre and cafe. Commissioned by Southwark Council, the housing forms part of the Aylesbury estate redevelopment and is organised in a U-shape around a central courtyard. The photography is by Tim Crocker.

CCY architects wraps Colorado house in patinated copper

US studio CCY Architects has clad a mountainside house in patinated copper panels and tilted the roof to adhere with the topography of its site in Colorado. Known as DNA Alpine, the 4,000-square foot (372-square metre) home was completed in 2022 and designed to "disappear into or somehow become" the 75-acre site in San Miguel County.

Baldridge Architects converts Austin commercial units into its own studio

Bright white plaster clads the exterior of a 1960s concrete building that has been turned into the self-designed studio of Baldridge Architects, which acted as the designer and contractor.
