Moxon Architects converts trio of highland outbuildings into guesthouse and artist's studio

British studio Moxon Architects has repurposed a small cluster of 19th-century farm buildings in Aberdeenshire, Scotland , into a guesthouse , glasshouse and private artist's studio. Remnant stone walls became a backdrop for a glazed extension which was framed with structural timber and a steel portal enclosure.

Norm Architects references Japanese temples for Sjöparken retreat in Sweden

Danish studio Norm Architects has created a retreat for gastro-tourists on an old farm in Sweden , positioning seven wooden villas around a lake and using glass corridors to amplify "connections with the surroundings". The suites also contain stone ensuites and, at the water's edge, a wooden sauna with the stove lowered into the floor.
