Most sole proprietors and small firms I know, struggle to meet the minimum requirements of operation. I will publish a more thorough post on this topic in the future, but the basic difference is in the agreements between the owner and the multiple contractors. The full liability for the construction falls upon the contractors.

The only place ‘contextual’ notes are used is in detail drawings (where keynotes are not as effective for the contractors). Doors, windows, room finish, equipment, plumbing fixtures, appliances, electrical devices and lighting are always scheduled. I point it out to the contractors at the pre-bid meeting to be sure they’re aware of it.
