They also designed a matching replacement for original structure with another wing in a quasi-Craftsman McMansion style. Bill Gates and Paul Allen founded Microsoft about a mile away.

The project includes the addition of a gallery and office building, as well as the further development of the museum's outdoor greenspace. The structure was built using a mass-timber frame fabricated in Minnesota, while locally sourced brick and concrete were used throughout the rest of building.

It will be occupied by wallpaper company Sanderson Design Group , which originally commissioned the building as an extension to its main factory more than a century ago.
