Designed for a client who co-founded a film and documentary production company, the house – called Santa Monica Modern – is located in a walkable neighbourhood, near shops and restaurants. Exterior walls are clad in a mix of Western red cedar and zinc panels. The ground floor holds the public zone and guest quarters.
