Gort Scott's scheme focused on unifying these buildings and their relationship to the landscape, removing a small residential building at the centre of the site that diverted the riverside route and blocked views from the rest of the college. The building responds to the topography of the site. A raw steel beam serves as a gutter, jutting out beyond the base of the roof. Downpipes were omitted; the rainwater drains off the side like a waterfall. Instead, the ground floor is arranged in a series of levels at different heights to follow the existing slope.
