Facing the city center, the building will be a cornerstone of the new research and development campus. This campus is being built along the so-called Innovation Mile marked at its southern end by the Innovation Center at Emanuel-Merck-Platz, which was also designed by HENN. Colored glass walls emphasize the laboratory areas.

Located alongside the Rhine at the campus of the Novartis healthcare company, the pavilion , which was recently shortlisted in the Dezeen Awards , has a communicative skin made from photovoltaics and LEDs. The media facade has a total of 10,000 solar modules with 30,000 embedded LEDs and consumes only as much power as it can produce.

Our project boldly embodies this idea through an open-plan design that invites unrestrained movement through its radically column-free floors, providing natural light and vistas throughout. While some of the projects have structures made entirely from mass-timber components, such as cross-laminated timber (CLT) and glued laminated timber (glulam), others introduce concrete and steel elements to build taller.
