The structure's horizontal form was informed by the vernacular architecture of the surrounding farmland. Utility spaces, such as a powder room, laundry room and storage, were placed directly adjacent to the entry, while a long hallway leads to the entrances of three guest bedrooms.

We chose to utilize a dark cedar exterior to ground the home within the surrounding dunes and a contrasting natural cedar to accentuate the point of entry. By creating a dark exterior with an accentuated entry we created contrast to the grass swept dunes.
