Australian studio Retallack Thompson has constructed a steel extension for a heritage-listed stone terrace in Sydney and added a second house on the same plot to create a multi-generational family home. These rooms were relocated to the centre of the floorplan, with the disused chimneys serving as risers for the plumbing."

Located in the beach town of Encinitas, just north of San Diego , the house was designed to replace a family's existing ranch-style home that no longer fit their needs. Its design was informed by the surrounding California climate Roughly square in plan, the new house rises two levels and totals 3,223 square feet (299 square metres).

British studio Ström Architects has completed a minimalist home in Cheltenham, UK , which references modernist Case Study Houses in California. Aptly named Case House, it is defined by pared-back finishes and forms, and layers of walls and gardens that buffer its light, airy interiors from the adjacent busy road.

Located in an inner suburb of Raleigh, HUUS house sits in a leafy neighbourhood with homes built between the 1940s and 1970s. Part of the HUUS house is sunken in the ground. The project's name comes from the old Alemannic German word for house, hüüs. This attitude is a perfect reflection of the couple who lives in the house.".
