Across the 30,000-square-foot space, which can accommodate over 150 people, ACDF has fashioned dimly lit areas, answering a very specific work environment for developers, and other nooks flooded with light that resemble garden cafes and outdoor terraces. For the local studio, beauty undoubtedly contributes to enhance our daily lives.

After exploring the idea of opening a small showroom or popup store somewhere in the downtown core, Le Studio, the decorative division of LumiGroup architectural, ultimately decided on an 18th floor VIP Showroom located in a condominium tower in the Old Montreal district.

These areas appear to float above the glass-enclosed lower levels, where waiting rooms, lounges, cafes, and other semi-public areas enjoy sweeping views over the grounds and the original building. The design maximizes natural light and views of nature at every turn, resulting in a calm, comfortable, and non-institutional patient experience.

A family in town The owners, a blended family with six children, decided to leave Montreal’s South Shore to move closer to the city center. The building shares its neighborhood with historic homes such as the T.W. The layout of the rooms created a maze of spaces, fragmenting the different rooms.

Concept & Interior Spaces Emphasizing a modest scale, Oakhill is a sleek, single-story residence that harmonizes with the forest canopy, inspired by the prevailing deciduous trees. Rooted in the gently sloping terrain, a lightweight roof is upheld by a subtle yet robust structure. In the evening, curtains offer privacy and a cozy ambiance.
