During college I worked for a firm for only 6 months, before I threw up my hands and quit. In his world, I was just a cheap architecture student day laborer.

I personally feel that having fewer licensed architects is bad for the profession because good designers will go unlicensed and clients will start to recognize (correctly) that they can hire unlicensed designers who are equally qualified to do the work.
