Hugh Broughton Architects has completed a sensitive restoration of a 19th-century church to provide a community hub in a historic dockyard on the Isle of Sheppey. Located in a prominent position in the port town of Sheerness in north Kent, the church is a key part of an 18th-century masterplan by Scottish civil engineer John Rennie.

Maine studio Elliott Architects has created a seaside house that includes a dramatic, cantilevered volume on stilt that stretches towards the ocean and the tree line. At the back, facing a courtyard, the architects included a kitchenette and conference room, where on-duty firefighters spend their time between operations.
