Austin Maynard Architects has completed Terrace House, a self-funded apartment building in Melbourne which is low-cost, eco-conscious and has enough room for young families. It combines a raw concrete structure with curved steel details and rainbow-coloured sunshades. Terrace House contains 16 homes and three shop units.

Canvas House features a rolling brick facade The 2022 design is a contemporary alternative to the yellow brick Georgian homes of the neighbourhood – which were popularised in Toronto from the 1920s to 1940s by Canadian architect John MacIntosh Lyle.
