Cobe unveils The Opera Park on island in Copenhagen's harbour

Danish studio Cobe has completed The Opera Park, a "much-needed green oasis" in Copenhagen 's inner harbour that features six gardens and a flower-shaped greenhouse. Described by Cobe as a "lush, green park island", the 21,500-square-metre landscape occupies a green lawn on a former industrial site adjacent to The Royal Danish Opera.

Located next to The Royal Danish Opera, the site had been a modest green lawn since the completion of the Opera nearly 20 years ago. Named The Opera Park, this new public harbor-front park creates a green counterpoint to the otherwise densely built inner harbor of Copenhagen.

We built the Sydney Opera House – entirely out of cake and icing. I couldn’t keep it, but the owner of the quarry sold it for $25k. Also, I like potatoes. Mashed, boiled, baked, etc. My last design competition involved cake. Cakitecture. It was beautiful, and delicious. It is my life-long goal to tour the world in a metal band.
