Dutch architecture office MVRDV has unveiled plans to install a giant neon-pink staircase across the exterior of Rotterdam's Het Nieuwe Instituut that will lead to a viewing platform in the same colour on its roof. The Podium was designed by MVRDV.

The new roof and terrace are accessible via an internal lift or the 57-metre-long external stairway, which features rest spaces and viewing platforms along the climb. A zigzagging staircase features outside MVRDV was founded in 1993 in Rotterdam by Winy Maas, van Rijs and Nathalie de Vries.
