Housed in the epic Ribbon building, W Sydney promises to host guests in suites as dramatic as the architecture surrounding them. The new Sydney outpost also scoops the title as the largest W Hotel in the world, with the project part of a major $2.5bn redevelopment of the harbour area.

Dutch architecture studio Overtreders W has created Stable Stack, a temporary cabin hotel built using straps and borrowed materials, in Veenhuizen, the Netherlands. Components were stacked and secured with straps Stable Stack, which is located in a peat meadow landscape and overlooks farmland, forms part of Veen Huis Hotel.

While the bold interiors are being created by Bergman Design House , the architecture feat of this project is about restoration as well as transformation. The hotel, which shelters interior design by Peter Marino, is a complex engineering challenge, with ‘top down’ construction facilitating super-structure and sub-structure works in parallel.
