The word "pergola" is derived from the Latin word "pergula," meaning a projecting eave. There are some conceptual parallels between the proverbial “ primitive hut ” and pergolas, particularly in terms of simplicity and the use of basic structural elements. Pergolas are ages old, dating back to ancient Egypt and Rome.

The series includes a tile named Moss, which has a furry texture that represents the tactile qualities of moss, and a pattern called Leaf, which mimics the way leaves age over time. The Hut lounge bed is made up of Accoya wood slats that gently lean into the centre, with the option to add a curtain across the entrance for increased privacy.
