Image credit: Woods Bagot The 16th-century monastery and accompanying existing structures are built from locally-sourced limestone in an example of the architecture of the Byzantine era. The mythology of the cross is resurrected in the cruciform planning of the double-height spa building, concealed under a planted wild grass roof.

Hugh Broughton Architects has completed a sensitive restoration of a 19th-century church to provide a community hub in a historic dockyard on the Isle of Sheppey. Located in a prominent position in the port town of Sheerness in north Kent, the church is a key part of an 18th-century masterplan by Scottish civil engineer John Rennie.

It is clad in untreated green English oak and features pitched roofs that were informed by Oxford's river boathouses and traditional wooden barns. The extension is clad in blocks of recycled glass and consists of six structures, which are organised around four courtyards and gardens.

The structure has been refurbished and rebuilt. At other key points throughout the building, the new structure is stepped back to allow the original spaces to breathe and tell their story.". The space's original columns were restored, with dark-coloured steel frames placed between each one to give the shop facades a unified appearance.

US firms Studio Gang and SCAPE have created a public park alongside the Mississippi River in Memphis that features a mass-timber shade structure and an installation by artist Theaster Gates. Studio Gang and SCAPE redesigned a park on the Memphis waterfront. The name refers to Nichol's reported hobby of photographing sunsets.
