UNStudio has just unveiled plans for another new mixed-use development project in the Chinese city of Nanjing. Dubbed K.Wah G72, the scheme will enact what they call a “lifestyle waterfront community” space along the city’s Qinhuai River, with the new home of the UCCA Centre for Contemporary Art serving as its base surrounded by green terraces, a hotel, apartments, and office tower blocks that create a new hub for socializing and commercial activity.

Shigeru Ban’s much anticipated Simose Art Museum has opened its doors to the public, offering guests the chance to explore Japanese art and design – followed by a stay in one of the architect’s iconic houses. Simose Art Museum is located near Hiroshima and opened on 1 April 2023. The project encompasses an expansive museum, restaurant and ten vacation houses – four of which Ban originally designed as private villas in the 1990s and which have since been demolished.

The Paris apartment occupies the top floor of the converted Patin coffee roasting factory near Parc Monceau inside a brick building dating from 1889. Seattle firm Olson Kundig Architects has created a studio attached to a primary residence in Washington , which sits on railroad tracks that allow it to completely detach. Called Maxon Studio, the project comprises a two-storey weathering-steel structure constructed as an office for the client's branding agency in Carnation, Washington.
