Lakeside Branch Library breaks ground

HED, PCL Construction, and the County of San Diego have broken ground on the new 16,800-sf Lakeside Branch Library in Lakeside, Calif. The library is designed to meet Zero Net Energy building standards. Dept. of Energy issues model energy code determinations for commercial, residential buildings

The U.S. Department of Energy has issued pre-publication Federal Register notice regarding updated model building energy codes. The 2021 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) and ANSI/ASHRAE/IES Standard 90.1-2019 will increase energy efficiency in residential and commercial buildings, the notice says. The IECC will increase efficiency in residential buildings by 9.4%, DOE says.
