KPF and Heatherwick Studio have offered an update on the design of Changi Airport’s Terminal 5 in Singapore. Described by the designers as a “bold re-imagination of the airport paradigm,” the new terminal will increase the airport’s capacity by 50 million annual passengers. KPF and Heatherwick were awarded the bid to design the terminal back in 2018 , part of a larger project to deliver 100 additional aircraft stands, a three-runway system, and new cargo complexes.

The systems will help power NASA's human and robotic exploration of the Moon under its Artemis missions. Architecture studio Nameless Architecture has completed the Café Teri bakery in Daejeon, South Korea, in a pair of buildings that flow into a central courtyard. Located at the foot of the Gyeryongsan Mountain in Daejeon, Nameless Architecture designed the two buildings to frame the entrance to a hiking trail that continues up the mountain. Between the wild meadows of Flinkteskov nature reserve and rural pasture land, this revitalised summer house near Møn is a quiet sanctuary for unwinding and recharging. The one-bedroom cabin was built in 1958 but was completely rebuilt and extended in 2018 to its current state, including its all-black timber exterior. While a striking aesthetic at first glance, it actually helps the shack blend into the landscape, which is a rich ecosystem, particularly for birdlife drawn to the coast.

Australian designer Nic Graham drew on the Hunter Valley’s industrial heritage and celestial cycles to craft the colourful interiors of hotel QT Newcastle in New South Wales. QT Newcastle takes over the former David Jones department store on Hunter Mall in the city’s East End.
