The design proposes an amalgamated layout of commercial, office, apartment and innovation hubs that can be naturally integrated with the surrounding urban fabric. The site also connects with an exhibition centre, an ecological park and metro connections, creating a new mixed-use destination in Wuhan. Diagram.

Concentrated with commercial activities, the site will be a key component in establishing the district as the future center of civic activity and commercial consumption. With a total area of approximately 90,000 sq m, the long and narrow site is divided into several scattered plots of different shapes along the river.

With the Luchtsingel and Schiestraat as structural routes and the urban development ensemble Schieblock and Delfstestraat and their users as a basis. The new building completes the block and consists of linked buildings with spaces for offices, culture, hotels with commercial functions and catering in the plinths. Diagram.

Our design breaks the conventional closed layout, optimising the natural topography to create a smart commercial space which integrates the multi-dimensional urban context and inherits the corporate spirit. The dialogue was launched by Tours Métropole on an inter-communal site surrounding the airport which serves as a passenger hub and until 2021 also as a military base. This land offers Tours Métropole the opportunity to rethink the entire airport area, and to include it in the urban renewal process yet under way in the north-east of the city.
