The structure was built on the site of a former gas station Using references from the era, the structure features classic signage, an overhanging roof and divided metal windows. Inside the structure, the restored wooden rafters were left exposed and pivoting windows were included to help expand the space.

Named Culvert Guesthouse, the archive and residence was constructed from four tunnel-like forms that were stacked on top of each other. The main archive space was placed in a 40-metre-long tunnel that has glass windows at each end. A roof covers an area between the tunnel-like forms. The main archive space is 40 metres long.

Completed in 2019 on the eastern end of Long Island , New York, the 8,300-square foot (770-square metre) home has a board-formed mass with punched windows, natural materials and light-filled spaces. Called Sheerness Dockyard Church, the grade II*-listed building has been upgraded with a new roof and interior spaces designed by Hugh Broughton Architects to replace ones gutted by fire in 2001. This includes the church's parapets and its roof, which is animated by steel and timber flitch trusses. It features steel link bridges.

Structurally, the building was created using a combination of steel, which was left exposed in the interior, as well as cross-laminated timber (CLT), an engineered wood product.
