Grant Associates led the landscape masterplan through concept and scheme design with TK Studio taking it forward to detailed stages. It was a great project to collaborate on with TK Studio for our client MDQC, who had a strong vision from the outset to create a new model for Intergenerational living in Symbiosis with Nature.

The project spans two adjacent blocks on the edge of the Jiangbei Financial District masterplan. This perimeter building bridges over pedestrian access routes and even the street between the two plots, creating a clear separation between the surrounding neighbourhood and the oasis at the centre of the design. Cologne-based project developer PANDION recently held an international architectural competition for a new mixed-use high-rise building in Düsseldorf. The positioning of two additional low-rise buildings forms an intimate pocket park surrounded by public uses. The two low-rise buildings comprise cost-controlled housing.

With the completion of the Booking.com City Campus in the heart of Amsterdam, all 6,500 employees of the Dutch travel platform can now work in the same building for the first time. Ben van Berkel: ‘We wanted to create a building that could also operate as a ‘recruitment machine’. This goal served as the starting point for the design.

Burnley Empire Theatre, is an example of community commons located within the Andplan.
