Designed by Henning Larsen , the 155,000-square-metre hub will contain offices, shuttle storage and pallet shuttle, as well as a restaurant and roof garden. Henning Larsen is an international studio for architecture, landscape, and urbanism. Externally, the facade will be divided by rhythmic timber fins and regular openings.

Biogenic materials and significantly increasing biodiversity are prioritized – over 40% of the site is dedicated to its landscape, inspired by the surrounding island habitat. Additionally, roof-sourced stormwater can be efficiently recycled for internal building use.

The Ark will be distinguished by a futuristic, curved metal extension positioned at roof level and designed to resemble a floating ship – giving the project its name. Once complete in 2026, it is hoped to become a "multifunctional public waterfront space" catering for a mix of creative, cultural and catering businesses, MAD said.

Built in wood and wood shingle, the church reflects the nature of Ørestad’s open landscape, embracing the community and its surroundings – an inverted façade design creates protrusions within the deep church walls, an extroverted space for the community. Construction is expected to start in 2024, and the church will be consecrated in 2026.

Expected to be completed in 2026, the 61-storey skyscraper will feature a car elevator that takes residents in their cars from the ground floor to their apartments. The building will be located almost next door to the Porsche Design Tower Miami in Miami beach , with both brands owned by the Volkswagen Group.

Embracing the local Faroese custom of ‘reading the landscape’, the design envisions a cluster of buildings placed to create natural shelter. The buildings will be constructed using mass timber (glulam and CLT), and covered with a turfed roof to seamlessly blend the buildings with the iconic landscape of Torshavn.
