I think that I owe it to the contractors that I convince to donate their time and their money to support this cause to design a playhouse that doesn’t become a financial burden to them. I think I must be a doing a good job because the same contractor has built my playhouse every year for the last 5 years. Vegetables or Dessert?

Since a number of people don’t seem to understand this concept, I thought I would whip together some sketches to help illustrate my point. In order to reach all points on the site without damaging the trees, the contractor had to use a concrete pump truck with a giant arm on it. Love the sketches too.

The layering and complexity of our field and profession can be visualized (somewhat abstractly) by the short filem “The Powers of 10.” Sometimes I wonder if my PM’s are somewhat annoyed with the time I took to quickly sketch out these ideas. One intern is a fantastic sketch artist and the other is a music genius.
