Owing to Meinhard von Gerkan’s active involvement, the practice has completed over 170 projects in China, including the conversion and extension of the Chinese National Museum in Beijing, and the masterplan for Nanhui New City near Shanghai. Von Gerkan was co-founder of the gmp Foundation and of the Academy for Architectural Culture (aac).

The City of Myrtle Point initially retained my firm, Robertson/Sherwood/Architects, in November of 2002 for the purpose of designing a new building to replace its aging and undersized public library. The City identified another development option in March of 2004. We updated the project’s cost estimate in 2006 and once more in 2008.

Projects will be displayed across the city and its environs, from central locations such as the old Al Jubail Vegetable Market and the Al Qasimiyah School to the surrounding desert. An interactive installation for all ages with seating and steps for rest and relaxation, it will promote sustainability through resource sharing and waste reuse.
