Some 400 miles of subway tracks, half of Metro-North’s Hudson Line and several Long Island Rail Road stations are in dire need of upgrades to stave off flooding and other extreme weather exacerbated by climate change, the MTA wrote in a report published on Wednesday. I found 46 that were tagged with “road pricing.” The MTA also plans to bond against this revenue and raise an additional $15 billion for new transit projects. We talk a lot about congestion charges and road pricing on this blog. Here’s a list of some of those posts. This sounds like a reasonable approach to me.
