After industry comes quality of life in the era of urban development. The park was designed by the Salem, Massachusetts, office of Landworks Studio, founded by the principal Michael Blier, FASLA, in 1996. The last section of the park is a dune landscape, part of the remediation of the heavily dredged coast.
