At the end of January, the new Stationsplein bicycle parking facility at the front of Amsterdam Central Station is opened to the public. An underground parking facility can be discouraging for its users, according to Oriol Casas Cancer, wUrck architect and partner. It is easy to navigate through the new bicycle parking.

The roof of the parking facility forms the new boulevard along the river IJ, creating a vibrant new walkway and gathering space for residents and visitors, with seating areas and views of the river IJ. The stairwells with large glass surfaces allow natural daylight in and provide a view of the parking facility from the pedestrian boulevard.
