A technical grid on the Warehouse ceiling permits any type of use, from concert to exhibition. The space can be opened up, but also split and a performance space made larger or smaller.

Seattle’s (WA) estimated share is more than 80%, and San Jose’s (CA) approaches 90%. It often controls for maximum height and putting another factory in wouldn't have been permitted either, but a bar or a car repair shop was ok. In Los Angeles (CA) the proportion is more than 70%.
