A pitched roof was designed in the same vein, with tile roofing typical to the local architecture. A raw steel beam serves as a gutter, jutting out beyond the base of the roof. A photovoltaic system was installed on the gently sloping concrete gable roof, with solar panels covering the surface like a carpet.

The wide eaves on the flat roofs extend the house’s proportions horizontally, making the two-story dwelling look smaller than it is and allowing it to dissolve more gradually into the surroundings. The size of the house was carefully considered with multiple independent climate zones to keep the footprint small and energy consumption low.

The main stair and lift are visible from this lobby, and the large roof light and atrium above floods the space with light. Each of these different zones are clearly demarcated with a cohesive palette of materials to reduce visual clutter whilst aiding wayfinding, with bollards in aluminium and cycle racks in stainless steel.
