Designers made a point of emphasizing wood’s unique properties by using it in all the terminal’s public spaces. Rouyn-Noranda’s geography and local economy made wood a natural choice in the materials palette for the city’s new air terminal building, as it is both harvested and transformed within the region.

There, a space of perception of the place offers multiple orientations and a diversification of points of view. Despite its large surface area, the energy consumption of this residence will be modest. Its orientation, and the extension of certain roof sections, allows for the harnessing or restriction of the sun’s thermal gains.
