I’m not sure I would have made this observation had I not started writing this blog and posting my sketches for others to view. Before we get to the actual tips, let’s talk some tools of the trade real quick: Almost 100% of my sketches are created using two pens. It’s kinda freaky to be honest.

For some of you that read this site, you’ll know what I mean when I say that this project has been developed using “Revit” – a brand name for a drafting program that we use to prepare our design and construction documentation. We just made the switch to Bluebeam Software for Revit and it made a huge difference.

These renderings were created using Revit and to be completely honest, they are a total pain to generate. I have thought of switching to Revit, because I can’ find too many drafting help in VW, but is hard to switch once you master a software. Thanks and great blog! Clients love to be able to see the models.

This was a quick plan study that I prepared so that I could show the client how we could add another bedroom to this one area of the house. So far, as much as I am starting to love Revit and the things it can do for us, the way it looks graphically out of the box is terrible. This sketch is also from the KHouse Modern.

Ezra Loh: When Bob originally mentioned the topic for this new post, he said: “number one deserted island album of all time”, then after quick discussion it was changed to “top five deserted album” picks. Brandon Tyler Carr the best part is, that i prefer hand-drafting than CAD or Revit drafting. So I thought. Godspeed You!

are there any tips you could give, to better ones chances at sinking that first internship/job? From a technology standpoint, we are an industry leader in Revit. The whole process has gotten way too bloated and we probably passed the tipping point back in the ’90′s. I hope blogs like this that get read by huge numbers of people will start to make a difference. Basically most firms here didn’t value out of country experience since i didn’t have LEED or Revit.
