I remember early on in my Revit adventure (substitute any software tool that has become a mainstay of your existence) … early on I read advice from seasoned users telling me to PLAN CAREFULLY before starting to make a family. I’m going for a Sweep with a loaded Profile. Adjust the length parameter and Swap out the profile.

I consciously endeavored to add profile lines, hatching, foreground and background indicators in place. In fact, the firm where I currently work as a principal is one of those 5 offices (I worked there 2001 – 2003) and I put the drafting standards in place then … and now that we are in Revit, I am once again making changes.
