Located right next to Hoofddorp station, from spring of 2019, it will be just four minutes by train from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and twelve minutes from Amsterdam’s business district in Zuidas. ‘Hyde Park anticipates Hoofddorp to become the next hub inside the metropolitan region of Amsterdam.’

At the end of January, the new Stationsplein bicycle parking facility at the front of Amsterdam Central Station is opened to the public. Underneath the enormous water surface the bicycle parking celebrates water and Amsterdam. wUrck worked closely with the Amsterdam Museum on selecting these images and turning them into maps.

Sited in a complex urban location next to Amsterdam Central Station – where trains, trams, buses, taxis, pedestrians and cyclists converge – and the river IJ, the underwater facility has space for over 4,000 bicycles. The design includes 6,000 m2 of new public space above ground, created by storing bicycles underwater.
