A circular wooden structure with a diameter of 700 metres is under construction off the coast of Japan as part of architect Sou Fujimoto 's masterplan for Expo 2025 Osaka. While incorporating walkways, the structure will double as a shelter from rain and sun, as well as a rooftop observation deck with seasonal landscaping.

Local studio Brandon Haw Architecture has created a masterplan for a development along the Brooklyn waterfront which will include five mixed-use towers created by design studios CookFox Architects , Rockwell Group and more. The stilt houses will be built on an abandoned salina on the Sado Estuary Construction is expected to begin imminently, with the first houses scheduled to open to guests in late 2025. The project also involves turning a large section of the 50-hectare site into a nature reserve.

New York architecture studio ODA has released the masterplan for a community in Queens called Innovation QNS, which will have housing, retail and public space. The site, which stretches five blocks between 35th and 36th avenue near the Kaufman Arts District, is currently occupied by concrete-cover parking lots and industrial buildings.
