The Scottish government has rejected calls for a public inquiry into the two blazes that devastated the Mackintosh building at the Glasgow School of Art, which was ravaged by fire in 2014 and again in 2018. As we previously reported , it took the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) 172 days to come up with its answer that the cause of the 2018 fire was “undetermined.

Fumihiko Maki , the 1993 Pritzker Prize laureate and a leading figure in Japan's Metabolism movement, passed away in Tokyo on June 6th, his Maki and Associates firm announced late Tuesday. He was 95. Japanese architect Fumihiko Maki , who designed buildings including 4 World Trade Center and was one of the founders of metabolism , has died aged 95. Local studio Atelier Janda Vanderghote has used simple materials to create the T(uin)Huis Atelier garden studio in Ghent , Belgium. Although originally intended to be a woodworking studio, the building was designed to be flexible, currently acting as a temporary home for the owners while building work is carried out on their house. The studio sits at the end of a garden and borders a plant-filled park that helped inform its design.
