Paris and Tokyo-based Studio Booboon unveils Totem, a rollable LG television that doubles as a soundbar. The display is designed as a vertical object that rolls out to reveal an OLED display. When retracted, the minimalist piece transforms into a standalone soundbar, blending harmoniously with any interior environment.

a minimalist, adaptable totem

Totem by Studio Booboon (see more here) is developed as a characterful product with sleek, minimalist aesthetics. Both discreet and memorable, the design takes advantage of OLED technology to create a customizable display that adapts to a wide range of configurations, formats, heights, and angles. Once the screen is tucked away, the product emerges as a totem-like speaker with a minimal footprint. Totem is created to fit into any residential interior setting and is available in a variety of pastel hues, including white, charcoal, salmon pink, and blue-grey.

Studio Booboon is a multi-disciplinary design firm founded by Korean designer Jisu Yun and British designer Richard Bone. The firm takes its name after the Korean word Booboon (부분 ) which means a detail/part of something. The team draws inspiration from these small details that shape our everyday routine to develop creative solutions that can further enrich the users’ life. They are also influenced by their varied experiences and cultural backgrounds. 

Yun and Bone have worked with a long list of influential companies including; LG, Oppo, Fritz Hansen, Joseph Joseph, Louis Poulsen, KakaoTalk, Marsotto Edizioni, Kenzo, Hermes, and Lufthansa.
