Sydney warehouse conversion combines homey vibes with industrial proportions

This saw-tooth industrial warehouse conversion in Sydney’s Rosebery intersperses living and work spaces across its voluminous, double-height interior.

The four-bedroom Sydney property was built in the 1960s as a mixed-use warehouse. Its brick facade helps it blend with the surrounding streetscape in the district. From the outside, it still looks like a working warehouse, thanks to its steel roller doors and discreet conversion, though inside it’s every inch the modern loft-style home.

Step through the doors, and you’re transported into a soaring double-height living room: concrete floors run underfoot, and window frames and metal trusses are original, while beams and interior brickwork are painted a brilliant while.

North-facing skylights crown the rustic, reclaimed kitchen, and there are three bedrooms and a large office within the 400 sq m warehouse, which is zoned R1 (for residential and commercial office use).

Buyers will have to be quick to register their interest, though – the Sydney property goes up for auction on Saturday 6 August, with a guide price of $3m AUD.
