Cairo Food Week 2024, organized by Flavor Republic’s co-founders Hoda El-Sherif and Sharif Tamim, is an immersive experience that delves deep into the history and culture of the Egyptian table. The food festival is filled with culinary events, talks, exhibitions, screenings, and activities spread across the city’s vibrant lifestyle districts, cultural locations, and revamped downtown venues.

Joining designboom at the week-long celebration are leading talents across the culinary and hospitality landscapes, not only from Cairo but also the MENA region and beyond. With over 40 events featuring more than 20 of the world’s most celebrated chefs, renowned professionals are connected with rising stars to promise a festival that is a melting pot of flavors, creativity, and inspirations.

2024 highlights
One of the highlights of 2024’s edition is the return of Chef Massimo Botturo’s Francescana family to Cairo. Alongside them are culinary luminaries such as Chef Jessican Rosval, Gucci Osteria’s Karime Lopez and Takahiko Kondo, and Riccardo Forpani of Ferrari’s Cavallino Maranello. These chefs bring not only their culinary expertise but also their compelling stories, enriching the festival with tales of gastronomic innovation and culinary heritage.

As a debut for the second edition, the prestigious Grand Egyptian Museum opens its doors to host Chef Virgilio Martinez of the world’s number 1 restaurant in 2023 – Central. This collaboration promises a series of enriching events such as a, exclusive dinner, a panel discussion, and a collaborative exhibition on the vital intersection of art, gastronomy, and ecosystem preservation.

Venturing into downtown Cairo, in partnership with Al Ismaelia for Real Estate & Investment, Cairo Food Week 2024 transforms the district into a hub of gastronomic delight. The ‘When We Eat Downtown Market’ invites visitors to indulge in street food walks, film screenings, and a series of talks exploring the trends and initiatives shaping the future of gastronomy and hospitality, both locally and globally.
