Many of these will be familiar to most who live here but there are likely to be a few buildings that are less so. My selection criteria for each will be threefold: The building must be of architectural interest, local importance, or historically significant.

Too much working. Not enough blogging. But last week I found the time to paint a small canvas. So far, my paintings are all based on photographs that I have taken over the past decade or so. They deal with places that have caught my imagination: human settlements in different parts of the world. The process of painting runs in parallel to digital work that I also share on this blog, with Revit as the primary tool for figuring things out.

Solar Glass: Turning Any Window into an Energy Generating Panel

Santa Cruz Architect

Photo-voltaic modules (otherwise known as solar panels) have been around for a while, allowing us to use sunlight as a source of energy. Architecture Is Human: Part I – The Humanity of Making Things

First, like the designs of instinct, any building must protect those who use it – the construction must resist gravity, shield against weather, fit its site and be buildable, or it fails at its Prime
