In the past 5 months, that evolution has accelerated far more dramatically because of the health, social, and economic upheavals we're currently experiencing. When the dust settles, the office is going to look and feel like a different place than the one we left in March. .

“Form follows Function.” A phrase coined by the late Louis Sullivan in 1896 in his article titled The Tall Office Building Artistically Considered. In reality, the phrase was “Form ever follows function”, and was based on Roman ideas of Vitruvius of architecture being solid, useful, and beautiful. There have been several other writings that followed in history on this subject based on this idea as well.

Here is an image of a funeral in the original tabernacle. A balcony went around three sides. At the front was a reed organ that actually had artificial pipes to look like a much more elaborate pipe organ. In the 1941 renovation, a new chapel was built on the north end and the original chapel space was repurposed to serve as classrooms and offices. Here is a picture of what the chapel looked like.

Woolpert has completed the $17 million renovation of the Academic Complex at the University of North Carolina Charlotte. The project includes five academic buildings at the southeast end of the campus. Upgrades began in 2015 and included improvements to the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing, the installation of a fire protection system, improvement to accessibility, the addition of interior finishes and exterior windows, and addressed minor building settlement. .

National nonresidential construction spending fell 1.2% in July, according to an Associated Builders and Contractors analysis of data published today by the U.S. Census Bureau. On a seasonally adjusted annualized basis, spending totaled $809.1 billion for the month. Of the 16 nonresidential subcategories, 10 were down on a monthly basis. Private nonresidential spending declined 1.0% while public nonresidential construction spending was down 1.3% in July. .

Sustainability begins with a conversation, and acquiring customer buy-in is entirely dependent on how the conversation is framed. Clients may not see sustainability as a priority out of fear of operational costs and quality. 1. Precast concrete tower honors victims of United Airlines Flight 93 (BD+C) . "The 93-foot-tall precast tower comprises 40 custom-made aluminum wind chimes, with each chime producing a distinct musical note. Together, these chimes create a set of “40 voices” to memorialize the 40 passengers and crew who lost their lives when the flight was hijacked by terrorists.".
