Architecture Billings Index continues to strengthen

The first quarter of the year ended on a positive note for the Architecture Billings Index (ABI). As a leading economic indicator of construction activity, the ABI reflects the approximate nine to twelve month lead time between architecture billings and construction spending. The American Institute of Architects (AIA) reported the March ABI score was 54.3, up from a score of 50.7 in the previous month.

Times Square renovation officially opens

In 2009, a temporary project known as “Green Light for Midtown” used paving and street furniture to close Broadway to vehicular traffic between 42 nd and 47 th Streets. The goal was to improve safety and alleviate traffic conditions at a site that sees over 40,000,000 annual visitors.
