Casa R+F is a typical 1970s villa in northern Italy, set in 2,000 square metres of land on the outskirts of Milan, with a swimming pool, guest house, gym and garage.
The main building, on two levels, was completely emptied, enlarged and redesigned in terms of both the distribution of the rooms and the systems, both of which were largely obsolete.
The project therefore entailed a global and integrated renovation project that involved both the structural aspects of the building and energy efficiency.

The insulation of the main volume was carried out using natural insulators, in accordance with the principles of green building, following an approach aimed at minimizing environmental impact while maximising people's health and comfort. The outside of the existing portion of the main building was lined with rock wool panels, protected by a counter-wall, while the new concrete roof was covered with an ecological and resistant zinc-titanium coating, replacing the previous tile-coated wooden structure.

From a distribution point of view, the spaces were completely redesigned, enlarged and optimised according to the owners' needs.
One of the owner's requests was to have doors without any external finish to be combined with a skirting board flush with the wall throughout the house, including the stairs.
For this reason, models from the ECLISSE Syntesis Collection were chosen, the line of sliding pocket doors and hinged doors flush with the wall without external finishes.
The sliding pocket door systems are designed to replace the wall and give the same effect as a real wall, into which the door slips and disappears. When the door panel is completely hidden, the passage is free and the presence of the door frame is almost imperceptible.
On the other hand, the frames for hinged doors flush with the wall are designed to allow for a homogeneous finish all the way to the perimeter of the doorway, creating the illusion that the door really does open like a gap in the wall.
Finally, the special profile for skirting boards is designed to facilitate the installation of baseboards flush with the wall, as it creates a recess at the foot of the wall, whether masonry or plasterboard, where the rod fits perfectly, remaining flush.

The concept of the entire interior design project was the sophisticated combination of the owners' classic taste in materials and colours with modern solutions and objects, such as furniture and real works of art. ECLISSE solutions contributed to this result. All the internal wooden doors, whether sliding or hinged, have the same finish as the wall they open into and appear minimal and elegant, blending into the background of the furniture. In the dining room, the flush effect of the hinged solutions has made it possible to create the illusion of a frescoed wall, made contemporary by a custom-made wallpaper that combines neoclassical art with a touch of modern, cheeky irony. This bold juxtaposition can be seen throughout the home in the furnishings and finishes, as for example in the reclaimed parquet flooring from Cortina d'Ampezzo or in the private collection of paintings from the Renaissance period that stand alongside and contrast with the modern creations of the artist Dondè.
