The 22,000 S.F. childcare facility is a major component of the Altgeld Family Resource Center, a mixed-use building designed for the Chicago Housing Authority (CHA). The operator, Centers for New Horizons (CNH), has been running a daycare operation at Altgeld Gardens for a number of years but was in need of renovation and looking to expand.

2016 Life of an Architect Playhouse Design Competition – Finalists

Last Friday was a big night here at Life of an Architect World Headquarters 2.0. It was the first round of playhouse judging and we had to go through 497 entries. While that sounds like a lot, it wasn’t that hard to go through most of them. In total, 337 were reviewed from the Houzz Website and the Playhouzz collection, and 78 were previous finalists in the playhouse competition when it was completely handled and processed on my site.
