Balenciaga’s brutalist London store gets a fluffy pink makeover

Bubblegum faux-fur wraps the interiors of Balenciaga’s Mount Street store in London – celebrating the launch of its maximalist Le Cagole collection.

Walls, fixtures, floors and ceiling elements have all been carpeted in the pink fuzzy material, in a riff on Demna’s namesake bag and its signature colour (itself a fresh take on the brand’s iconic Balenciaga Motorcycle bag.)

Says the fashion house: ‘The line, which now includes multiple bags, wallet, and shoe styles, reinvents Balenciaga codes in the tradition of maximalist It Bags of another era.’

The soft and tactile result will make you want to take off your shoe and spread your toes. Instagramers have until June 2022 to get that crucial grid shot: the installation will be dismantled after that.
